Lavrov: Iran nuclear deal situation is a crisis
The current situation around the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on the Iranian nuclear program is a crisis, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Monday. He made the statement opening talks with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif. “We appreciate this possibility to meet in Moscow and exchange views on the issues of the JCPOA, and to be honest, the situation around it is a crisis,” TASS quoted Lavrov as saying. He added that in the coming days Zarif would also hold meetings with all participants of the JCPOA, except for the US, which decided to withdraw from the agreement. “Unfortunately, once again we see that Washington is seeking to revise key international agreements,” Lavrov said.
