Fourth man on the moon dies at age 86
US astronaut Alan Bean, the fourth man to walk on the moon, has died at the age of 86 in Houston, Texas. NASA issued a tribute to Bean, who had recently fallen ill while travelling in Indiana. Bean was part of NASA’s second moon landing mission, Apollo 12, in 1969, which he piloted. The former US Navy pilot later took part in a flight to the Skylab space station in 1973.
