The head of Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) Aleksandr Bortnikov has described as “nonsense and provocation” statements by the Ukrainian authorities about the alleged involvement of Russia’s special services in the murder of journalist Arkadiy Babchenko in Kiev. “They seem to be raving, let them sort it out among themselves,” Bortnikov was quoted as saying on Wednesday. He agreed that this case could be likened to the poisoning of former double agent Sergei Skripal in the UK. Russia’s Investigative Committee (SKR) said on Wednesday it is ready to assist Ukrainian law enforcement agencies in investigating the Babchenko case.
