Parliamentary elections held in Slovenia
Slovenia is holding snap parliamentary elections on Sunday. The vote takes place after the national government resigned in March over a scandal surrounding a referendum on a railway project, which was invalidated by the Supreme Court. The party of former prime minister Janez Jansa was leading in opinion polls published two days before the vote. Jansa is running on anti-immigrant platform. His party was followed in the poll by the left-leaning group of Marjan Sarec, a provincial mayor and former comedian.
