Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte met with his British counterpart Theresa May on Tuesday, saying that the EU urgently needs “clarity about every aspect of the future relationship” with the UK. The meeting in The Hague came as May faced growing pressure to spell out the preferred British position on trade with the bloc after it leaves the EU, planned in less than nine months. May, who is due to meet German leader Angela Merkel in the next few days, did not immediately provide any comment, Reuters reported. The Netherlands has lobbied for favorable exit terms for Britain, its third-largest trading partner, but would support whatever deal the European Commission negotiates.
