Turkey train crash death toll rises to 24
The death toll from passenger train derailment in northwest Turkey, has risen to 24, Health Minister Recep Akdag confirmed, adding that at least 120 people were injured. The incident occured when five carriages of the train, which was carrying over 360 people, came off the tracks near the Greek border. It happened after heavy rain and a landslide on the tracks. “There were deaths immediately, people whose legs were crushed. It was a horrible accident,” an unnamed survivor told local media.
