Russia deploys 4,000 troops for military drill near Lake Baikal
The Russian Defense Ministry is redeploying 4,000 troops and 70 pieces of hardware, including Iskander tactical missile launchers, multiple rocket launchers and artillery pieces, to the Tsukol training range in the Transbaikal area near the border with Mongolia, the Eastern military district reported. The troops were pulled from units normally deployed in Khabarovsk Region, Amur Region, and the Republic of Buryatia and will take part in several live-fire exercises at the range, including Iskander launches.
