At least 19 drown as boat with Syrian migrants sinks off Northern Cyprus coast
At least 19 people drowned on Wednesday when a boat carrying more than a hundred Syrian migrants sank off the coast of Northern Cyprus, Turkish Anadolu news agency reports. The exact number of passengers on board is unknown, but believed to be around 150. The Coast Guard of the partially recognized Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus said that 103 people have been rescued and brought to Turkey, with the rescue operation still underway. Several dozen passengers are reported to be missing.
