Fuel supply to Gaza Strip resumed after week-long pause – UN
The supply of fuel to the Gaza Strip through the Kerem Shalom crossing, which was halted by Israel on July 17 amid a crackdown on incendiary kite launches, has been resumed, UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Nickolay Mladenov told the UN Security Council. The first 100,000 liters of much-needed fuel were allowed in to be distributed by the UN, he said. The official called on all parties involved in the crisis to “step back from the brink and from, potentially, the fourth military confrontation in Gaza over the past decade.”
