The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on the Iranian nuclear program has sufficient durability, and its participants are able to overcome difficulties they encounter, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday. The ministry published the comment in connection with the restoration of US sanctions against Iran, adding that Moscow reaffirms its commitment to the JCPOA. “We are deeply disappointed by the steps taken by the US to re-impose its national sanctions against Iran,” the statement said. “We condemn any unilateral sanctions bypassing the decisions of the UN Security Council, especially when they are of extraterritorial nature and affect the interests of third countries.”
