New York prosecutors summon Cohen to testify on Trump
State authorities in New York have summoned President Donald Trump’s former personal lawyer Michael Cohen for an interview regarding the operations of Trump Foundation. The subpoena was issued “in light of the public disclosures made yesterday," according to James Gazzale, a spokesperson for the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance. Cohen pleaded guilty to eight criminal charges on Monday, including paying hush money to two women who claimed to have had affairs with Trump. New York AG Barbara Underwood sued Trump over the family charity in June. The president denounced it on Twitter as a “ridiculous case” brought by “sleazy New York Democrats.”
