Australian foreign minister resigns from cabinet
Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop has resigned from the cabinet set up by new Prime Minister Scott Morrison. In a post on Twitter, the politician confirmed that she will remain “on the backbench as a strong voice for Western Australia.” Bishop, who represents the Liberal Party, has led the foreign ministry since 2013. She has been replaced by former Defense Minister Marise Payne.
