Canada’s Auditor General dies in office

Michael Ferguson, who since 2011 held the post of Canada’s Auditor General – a senior government accountability official reporting to the parliament – has died, his office said in a short statement. He is survived by his wife and two sons, it added. The office would not disclose any details about how Ferguson passed away.
