El Salvador’s Bukele declares first round victory in presidential election
Nayib Bukele has declared himself the winner in Sunday’s presidential election in El Salvador. The 37-year-old right-wing former mayor of San Salvador, who campaigned on an anti-corruption platform, had over 52 percent of votes after about a third of ballots were processed by the electoral tribunal.
