Chinese, Russian diplomats support 2nd US-North Korean summit
China’s special envoy for the Korean Peninsula and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov have expressed support for a second summit between North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and US President Donald Trump, TASS reported. “Both sides think that the situation on the Korean Peninsula continues to develop toward a closer dialogue,” China’s Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday after the diplomats’ meeting in Moscow. “China and Russia positively assess the active efforts of North Korea and the US to eliminate existing disagreements, and hope… for positive results of the second North Korean-US summit,” the ministry added. Moscow and Beijing “will actively facilitate political settlement on the Korean Peninsula,” the statement said.
