Venezuela rejects intl criticism of move to strip Guaido of immunity
Caracas has slammed countries that criticized the decision of the Venezuelan government to remove immunity from opposition leader Juan Guaido who proclaimed himself an interim president. Venezuela’s Foreign Ministry also called for an immediate end to interference in its internal affairs. European Union governments condemned on Thursday a measure by Venezuela’s Constituent Assembly that allows for the potential arrest and prosecution of Guaido. “The EU rejects the decision taken by the non-recognized National Constituent Assembly to lift Juan Guaido’s parliamentary immunity,” the EU said in a statement.
