Tripoli-based govt orders military prosecutor to issue arrest warrant for Haftar – reports

The Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA) has ordered the military prosecutor’s office to issue arrest warrants against Khalifa Haftar and the field marshal’s allies participating in the advance on the city, Sputnik said, citing an Al Jazeera report. The GNA earlier slammed Haftar’s Libyan National Army advance into the Libyan capital, calling a recent attack on a city airport a “war crime” and a violation of “all national laws and international agreements.” GNA presidential council chairman Fayez al-Sarraj reportedly instructed prosecutors to prepare the arrest warrants. Haftar’s troops began an advance on Tripoli last week, striking positions of armed forces loyal to the GNA at the city’s defunct international airport on Tuesday. The previous day, they launched an attack on another airport.
