Border patrol helicopter crashes in NW Iran, 1 killed – reports
One person was killed and three injured after a Bell 214 helicopter belonging to Iran’s Border Guard Command crashed in the West Azerbaijan province, Tasnim reported on Wednesday. Head of the Border Guard Command of the province, Fardin Piri, confirmed the news, saying the crash happened in the Dalampar area in Silvaneh, Urmia, near the Iran-Iraq border, as cited by the Mehr news agency. The accident happened in the Dalampar mountains to the southwest of Urmia while the helicopter was carrying border guards, media reports said.
