The US and its allies seek to take control of the secretariats of international organizations in order to push decisions bypassing intergovernmental consultations, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said. He made the statement at his annual meeting with students and professors at the Foreign Ministry’s Diplomatic Academy, TASS reported on Friday. The US, the British and other close allies “are in fact making attempts to privatize the secretariats of international organizations, place their representatives there, and control secretariat officials,” he said. The aim is to “put forward certain ideas that actually would not be accepted at international negotiations,” Lavrov added.
