A mother of seven from the US state of Wisconsin faces up to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to a charge of “attempting to provide material support to terrorists.” Prosecutors allege that Waheba Issa Dais used social media accounts she “took over from unwitting victims” to share information about making poisons, suicide vests, biological weapons, and explosives, and suggested potential events and locations to target in terrorist attacks in conversations she had with self-proclaimed IS members and supporters. According to prosecutors, Dais initially pleaded not guilty to two charges, yet a second one was dropped in exchange for her changing her plea to guilty. However, authorities were unable to connect her to any attacks or plots in the real world and also said she has a history of mental illness.
