Zelensky wins 73.22% of vote in Ukraine’s presidential election runoff – commission
The leader of the Servant of the People political party, Volodymyr Zelensky, has won 73.22 percent of the vote in the presidential election runoff, Ukraine’s Central Election Commission said on Tuesday. The incumbent president, Petro Poroshenko, got 24.45 percent of the vote. According to the Central Election Commission, more than 13.5 million people voted for Zelensky, and 4.5 million Ukrainians supported Poroshenko in the second round of the presidential election, TASS said. A presidential runoff took place on April 21. The inauguration will take place no later than on May 31. In the first round of the presidential election on March 31, Zelensky and Poroshenko garnered 30.24 percent and 15.95 percent of the vote respectively.
