Anil Padmanabhan has been a journalist for the last 37 years. He has worked in various news publications, including Press Trust of India, Business Standard, India Today and Mint.
He was awarded the Nieman fellowship in 2001, after which he was hired by India Today to be based out of New York as their chief of bureau (till 2006 September).
Since 2020 he opted to go freelance and writes for the Economic Times, Khaleej Times, The Open and features on national television.
Anil also writes a weekly column, Capital Calculus, on Substack and does a weekly show on StratNews Global which looks at policies and developments through the intersection of politics and economics.
