Dmitry Medvedev was born on September 14, 1965, in Leningrad. After graduating from the Law Faculty of Leningrad State University, he embarked on an academic career, earning a Candidate of Legal Sciences degree and serving as an associate professor at St. Petersburg State University, where he taught until 1999.
In 1999, he joined Vladimir Putin’s team, first serving as Deputy Head of the Government Apparatus of the Russian Federation and later as Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation.
On March 2, 2008, he was elected President of the Russian Federation. Since May 8, 2012, he has served as the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation. On January 16, 2020, he was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.
