Dmitry Plotnikov was born in 1996 in Kirov. He dedicated his academic journey to political science, political philosophy, and global politics, earning degrees from universities in St. Petersburg, Moscow, and Manchester.
Since 2018, Dmitry has been working as a journalist, focusing on the dynamics between Russia and former Soviet republics, including Ukraine. His articles delve into the transformation of post-Soviet political regimes, civil conflicts in these countries, and nationalism across the post-Soviet landscape. In 2022, he spent significant time in the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics, reporting on Russian military activities and the lives of civilians caught in the conflict. That same year, he became a regular contributor to RT.
His interests span political philosophy, legal theory, issues of sovereignty, and contemporary theories of democracy.
