God gave me ability to see into the future – Central Asian state’s president

God gave me ability to see into the future – Central Asian state’s president

The president of the Central Asian nation of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, has claimed he can see into the nation’s future for decades to come. He made the statement on Friday, a week after opening a high school for talented children who he said should be trained to predict and define Kyrgyzstan’s future.

“I have this [ability] – to see what will happen to our nation in 20 or 30 years and what path it will follow,” Japarov said in an interview with a local news agency following the opening ceremony. “I must have been granted this sense by God,” he said. The president added that “anyone” can predict the future simply by observing what is happening right now.

The president also criticized the recruitment system for public officials, saying Kyrgyzstan abandoned the professional training system it once had before gaining independence from the Soviet Union, and essentially replaced it with nepotism.

The nation will now start training professionals “from the very beginning,” he said, and “only then… will they be able to predict the future of Kyrgyzstan for a century to come and define this future.”

Students will be admitted to the presidential high school on the basis of a yearly nationwide competition. They will be able to take part in the competition after six years of regular studies. Only 75 students have been accepted to the school for the upcoming academic year.
