Putin hails Russia’s unrivaled military ‘know-how’

Russia’s unrivaled weapons technology has already been proven on the battlefield and will continue to be improved and refined, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Monday.

The comments were made in a video address for the opening of the Army 2024 International Military-Technical Forum taking place near the Russian capital. The president noted that the forum, which is being held for the tenth time, attracts specialists and experts from across the world and has proven to be a platform that promotes constructive cooperation between Russia and other countries.

This year, Putin announced that over 120 foreign companies have registered to take part in the event and that several foreign exhibitions will be participating.

The agenda of the forum, he said, is to offer “grand-scale presentations of the most advanced and largely unique achievements of Russia’s defense manufacturers,” which include over 240 export versions of weapons and other kinds of military and specialized hardware.

“Let me emphasize that many of Russia’s advanced, unique, and innovative solutions have already proven their worth on the battlefield. Moreover, we improve their basic performance all the time,” Putin said, adding that Russian designers, engineers, and scientists working at defense manufacturers have been proactively applying the combat experience acquired during Russia’s military operation against Kiev.

Previously, Aleksandr Osadchuk, the head of the Main Directorate for Innovative Development at the Defense Ministry, reported that 110 foreign military delegations have been invited to attend the Army 2024 Forum and participate in bilateral meetings on furthering military-technical cooperation.
