Ukraine attacks train ferry in southern Russia (VIDEO)
Kiev’s forces attacked a railway ferry at the port of Kavkaz in Russia’s Krasnodar Region on Thursday, RIA Novosti has said, citing local emergency services. The missile strike reportedly sparked a massive fire and a firefighting train has been dispatched to the scene.
So far, there have been no reports of casualties. Fedor Babenkov, the head of Temryuk district where the port is located, has stated on his official Telegram channel that the targeted ship had been carrying 30 fuel tanks.
He added that 12 fire brigades and 3 ambulance teams were working at the scene.
According to the Krasnodar Operational Headquarters Telegram channel, over 100 people are involved in extinguishing the blaze, including 43 from the Russian Emergencies Ministry, which has also contributed 13 units of equipment.
RIA Novosti has reported, citing Russia's emergency services, that five people were believed to have been aboard the train ferry when the missile struck. Their fate remains unclear, according to the outlet.
