US-made armor destroyed by Russian suicide drone (MOD VIDEO)

The Ukrainian Bradley Fighting Vehicle was reportedly hit near Kursk Region, the Defense Ministry in Moscow reports

A Russian kamikaze drone has destroyed a US-supplied Ukrainian Bradley Fighting Vehicle in the border area of Kursk Region, the Defense Ministry in Moscow reported on Wednesday.

The strike was carried out by a Lancet drone, footage provided by the ministry shows.

“Aerial reconnaissance of the Northern Group of Forces in the border area of Kursk Region detected a Bradley Fighting Vehicle of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near a forest belt. After analyzing the received intelligence data, a decision was made to fire on the enemy’s vehicle,” the statement from the ministry read.

Russian Ministry of Defense footage shows an aerial view directly above what appears to be a stationary Bradley Fighting Vehicle near a wooded area. A Lancet drone, distinguished by its X-shaped wings, can then be seen diving towards the target and scoring a direct hit. Smoke can be seen rising from the armored vehicle after the impact. However, it is unclear how much damage was done and whether it was abandoned.

Earlier on Wednesday, the ministry reported that over the past 24 hours Ukrainian forces have suffered 400 casualties, lost 10 armored vehicles, a British AS-90 self-propelled artillery system, and 20 other units. Another 11 Ukrainian soldiers surrendered to Russian forces, according to the MOD.

Ukraine sent thousands of troops across the Russian border into Kursk Region in August. Officials in Kiev have said the incursion was an attempt to slow Moscow’s advances in the east and obtain a stronger position in future peace talks. However, the advance has stalled; invading forces have suffered over 34,000 casualties and lost hundreds of tanks and other heavy equipment, according to Russian Defense Ministry estimates.
