Knife crime: A lesson from Scotland

This week’s Alex Salmond Show continues our examination into London’s upsurge in violence – and asks: “Can the Scottish experience hold the answer to England’s knife crime crisis?” Now with all political parties following the Scottish “public health” approach (viewing community violence as an infection, curable not inevitable), Alex explores the issue with Scotland’s former justice secretary, Kenny MacAskill. MacAskill commandeered a policy which saw knife crime decline by more than two-thirds – as Alex asks: “Can these lessons really be transported into London”?
