Oklahoma’s fracking earthquakes & Richard Wolff on the next subprime mortgage crisis
On this episode of America’s Lawyer, Mike Papantonio discusses the link between fracking wastewater injection wells and earthquakes in Oklahoma, and speaks with attorney Curt Marshall about several lawsuits that are being filed by Oklahoma residents against energy companies over the earthquakes. Mike then talks to Richard Wolff, economist and professor emeritus at the University of Massachusetts, about a fraud lawsuit being filed against mortgage lender Quicken Loans by the federal government, and whether we might see another subprime mortgage crisis in the near future. Mike is then joined by Farron Cousins, executive editor of The Trial Lawyer Magazine, about newly unsealed documents showing disturbing communications between the EPA and Monsanto over a possible carcinogenic chemical in its Roundup weed killer. America’s Lawyer wraps up the show by highlighting a ruling by a District Court against Texas lawmakers for illegally drawing voting districts to suppress the minority vote.
