Pound hits 31-year low, US initial jobless claims hit 43-year low

The British Pound Sterling is at a 31-year low as fears of a “hard Brexit” mount. Ameera David has the details. Then, Marina Portnaya reports from Miami on the coming landfall of Hurricane Matthew, which could potentially leave billions of dollars in damage in its wake. Chris Versace, CIO of Tematica Research, then tells Ameera what he sees ahead for the US economy.

After the break, Bianca Facchinei takes a look at the EU’s newest border protection agency that will try to stop refugees from crossing into Europe. Frances Coppola of Coppola Comment then gives her take on what’s in store for the UK as Brexit looms near. And finally, in The Big Deal, Edward Harrison discusses whether the US’ record low initial jobless claims is a good thing for the country, or a harbinger of recession.
