Orphaned by ISIS
Thousands of women and children of deceased or imprisoned Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS) fighters from all parts of Russia have been left helpless, with little chance of returning home. About 2,000 women and children have been helped by the repatriation efforts of Russian and international human advocacy groups. Two thousand more are still held at the Al-Hawl camp in Northern Syria, or imprisoned in Iraqi jails and detentions centers.
