Red lights out

For many stressed-out Europeans, a brothel was a place to leave behind sad reality, but the coronavirus epidemic has taken its toll. In Germany, the world’s oldest profession was legalized more than a decade ago but has suffered its worst downfall in recent history. Many women’s rights advocates insist the crisis has just revealed the widescale poverty and lack of social support that’s been known about for a long time.
