Oleg Abakumov decided to become a pulmonologist because he struggled with asthma all his childhood and had come to know medicine from a patient’s standpoint. So, when he grew up, he was determined to resume his relationship with medicine and went to medical school at 16. Oleg became convinced in his medical career that it is essential to teach people to trust medicine and be careful about their health. So, when COVID struck, Oleg joined the red zone in a Moscow hospital and made explanatory posts on his Instagram account. In his posts, he metaphorically presents COVID as a disaster of apocalyptic proportions, which should be taken seriously. He says his primary task is to see the patient and find the right approach to them, guaranteeing 90% success. So, how does he manage to do that?
