Sudoplatov: Mission, Ukraine
Pavel Sudoplatov was a KGB legend, he planned and executed several brilliant Soviet intelligence operations in the 1930s, ‘40s and early ‘50s. The fight against Ukrainian nationalism held a special place in his career. It began in the 1920s, and was a struggle in which no holds were barred. In the end, Sudoplatov emerged victorious. To this day, huge tracts of his personal biography are known only to a select few. Abwehr courses in Germany were cleverly used against Ukrainian nationalists. He managed to penetrate the heart of their organization and successfully undermined the Nationalist leaders’ plans. Later, after WW2, he employed ingenious methods against them, even though they were supported by the mighty CIA.
