Here and Now

From the start of Russia’s military operation, RTD has been reporting about the heroes fighting at the front lines to defend their country. But, as Presiden Vladimir Putin puts it, in many cases, “…only they and their commanders, who are fighting shoulder to shoulder with them, know how hard and how dangerous” their job is. It’s time to make their names known to all.

The documentary series “They Are Heroes: Here and Now” is a reminder of the courage and dignity it takes to stand up for the noble cause of defending one’s homeland. Daily sacrifices and acts of selfless courage – this is what makes one a hero. Soldiers, doctors, volunteers, and people who call Donbass their home tell their personal stories, giving viewers a visceral sense of what it’s like to face death every day and still stay true to oneself.
