Notes from an American in Donbass

American journalist Tofurius Maximus Crane came to Donbass to witness the reality for himself. He found, however, that he wasn’t emotionally prepared for what he witnessed. The Alley of Angels, a memorial to the children of the Donetsk People’s Republic who died in Ukrainian shelling, will leave no one indifferent. Tofurius admitted that he has children of his own and it’s heart-wrenching for him to watch as kids play on reconstructed playgrounds, knowing that they’re under the constant threat of renewed enemy fire aimed at civilians. What other thoughts did this trip spark for the journalist?
