“You have to watch your step here. Don’t stray off unless you have to. The whole area is mined. To the right and the left, there are booby traps and ‘petal’ mines. That’s why you have to stay on the asphalt. And still, you have to watch your step because there may be ‘petal’ mines here,” says Vladimir Glushchenko, a volunteer and NGO field team member. Every day, Vladimir and his team risk their lives to locate, identify, and ensure a dignified burial for victims in the Lugansk People’s Republic.
