Avdeevka is a strategic point on the map of Donbass. The city holds the key to Donetsk’s peaceful future. For almost ten years, civilians there have been subjected to continuous shelling. Now, fierce battles are being fought for their freedom. Just ten minutes away from explosions and gunfire, life keeps going: doctors perform surgeries, scientists pursue research, women give birth, and roses bloom along roadsides... What is life like for these people living at the crossroads of war and peace? And what have they been sacrificing to do this?
