Youth United

Cynthia, aged 17, lives on the island of Java in Indonesia. In March 2024, she and 154 other representatives from her country will travel to Russia to participate in the World Youth Festival. Halaf, originally from Iraq, also attended the Youth and Student Festival back in 1957. “In Moscow, they always called me Halafchik,” he reminisces. Returning to Russia has been his dream ever since, and 60 years later, it will finally come to fruition. The World Youth Festival will be held at the Olympic Park in Sochi, where over 20,000 participants from 188 countries will gather. What awaits them there?
