Faith Under Fire

Protoiereus Viktor Ivanov and Imam Hamza-hazrat Hafizov spend most of their time at the front with fighters from Bashkiria, Russia. They provide spiritual support to the soldiers. Viktor and Hamza don’t have any disagreements; instead, they represent the unity of a multicultural country. They spend nights together in dugouts, facing the shelling side-by-side. They encourage people not to focus on differences between Muslims and Orthodox Christians, but to find common ground. They believe that, through shared prayers, victory will come soon.
