GONZO drives toward Flagstaff, Arizona, with a stop at the indescribable Grand Canyon along the way. The drive takes them through wide open countryside where native Americans still live. When they get to Flagstaff, they are given a guided ghost tour by Johnny, a local who is a cowboy during the day. Stacy asks why there aren’t so many ghosts in Europe, and he reckons that it’s because we promote them and earn money off the fear. One of the first to spot a ghost in Flagstaff was John Wayne who stayed in the town when he starred in some of his Hollywood blockbusters glorifying the gunslinging past. Max then talks to author and former convict, Chas Allen, who committed a heist after being inspired by the American anti-heroes immortalized on the silver screen. After being sentenced to and serving nine years in prison, his own story was made into a Hollywood film. He remarks on life behind bars and the reality of the American prison system where slave labor is still allowed and the assembly line of criminals is needed to deliver profits to the shareholders in the incarceration business. GONZO then hits the road again on the way to New Mexico.
