A Russian military plane is shot down off the coast of Syria, killing 15. The Russian defense ministry says Israeli fighter jets are to blame, for intentionally drawing the fire of Syrian air defenses, directly at the doomed plane. Israel confirms strikes on Syrian territory but insists Syria, Iran and the armed group Hezbollah are to blame for the downing of a Russian jet. The Israeli army and Russian President extend their condolences to the families of the plane's crew. Some of the remains of the crew, along with personal belongings, have been located in the Mediterranean Sea, where the IL-20 came down the search and rescue operation is still underway.
