Vladimir Putin says external powers might be seeking to disrupt newly established efforts by the US and Russia to end the Ukraine conflict. Taking steps toward improved relations, Russian and US officials hold extensive talks in Istanbul over the course of six hours building on the progress recently achieved by those two global powers at a historic meeting in Riyadh. A militant rally in the eastern DRC is broken up by explosions and gunfire as crowds frantically flee from the area. Several people are reported killed and others wounded. More than 600 Palestinians are released from Israeli custody in exchange for the bodies of several deceased hostages. The 42-day truce between the IDF and Hamas is about to expire this weekend.
