Finally some truth shines through, white supremacy & mass shootings, third-party politics

The show opens this week with a look back at stories that have made the move from fringe ideas that were mocked in the media to accepted truths in society. Lee and other independent journalists were raising the alarm about issues such as GMOs, Monsanto’s pesticides, climate change, and the insanely flawed American electoral system for years before they became widely derided. Even though society has come to accept that these issues deserve derision, it was the people exposing them who were made fun of before, and the people covering them up won’t receive any condemnation.

In the second half of the show, Lee reports on recent mass shootings, the FBI’s newest moves to criminalize conspiracy theories, and recent developments in mass surveillance in the US. The show ends with a special treat: the executive director of the Movement for a People’s Party, Nick Brana, joins Lee on the show to talk about third-party electoral politics and the failures of anyone trying to reform the DNC.
