The state of bipartisan sickness, the DNC’s Iowa debacle, Trump’s racist ‘travel’ ban
Donald Trump made his third State of the Union address this week and despite the recent impeachment drama with the DNC, there’s still a lot of bipartisan support for the terrible actions of our government. Lee watched the speech and found several points of agreement between the parties on issues such as the US’ prison-industrial complex and our foreign interventions. The Iowa caucus debacle, Brexit, and the Kentucky gun rights protests are covered in ‘Taking The News From Behind’.
Trump has shifted his ‘Muslim Ban’ into a ‘Travel Ban’ affecting several African nations. Naomi Karavani reports that it will now include Nigeria, Myanmar, Eritrea, Kyrgyzstan, Sudan, and Tanzania. However, immigrants with enough money will be able to pay their way around it. Natalie McGill finishes off the show with the story of how telecom companies are taking advantage of Ajit Pai’s net neutrality repeal.
