Yesterday's enemy?

It's become an accepted wisdom in geopolitics that nations don't have permanent friends, only permanent interests. But this adage seems even truer of enemies. With Turkey mending ties with Israel, and the United States in talks with Russia, is permanent enmity becoming a thing of the past?
