Strategic autonomy is the ability of a state to pursue its interests and foreign-policy goals without depending too much on foreign powers. It’s a bit similar to the psychological definition of maturity – the adult ability to fend for oneself. But according to my guest today, it is something that the European Union has lost the sight and the grip of in the midst of the Ukrainian conundrum. What can possibly bring it back?
