Back in 1999, when the Asian financial crisis was ravaging the markets, few thought anything constructive could come out of it. Global elites were hurriedly cobbling together new groups in an effort to stem the decline and coordinate future policies. One such group was the G20, another — BRICS, and, for a while, they followed similar developmental paths. Have they now reached a fork in the road?
