Russian tennis players Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina proceeded to the Wimbledon doubles final.
Number two seeds Vesnina and Makarova registered a comfortable 7:5, 6:2 win in a match with the Czech Republic’s Kveta Peschke and Germany’s Anna-Lena Gronefeld, who were seeded 12.
The victory means that Vesnina will take part in the Wimbledon final for the third time in her career, while Makarova will play there for the second time. The two were previously winners in doubles in the US Open in 2014 and the French Open in 2013.
Their opponents will be known after the match between Chan Hao-Ching (Taiwan) and Monica Niculescu (Romania), and Makoto Ninomiya (Japan) and Renata Voracova (Czech Republic).
